Lights Out
03:03
|

Now that you've painted me black let's face it
Enjoy the knife in my back for the bed that you made here
It's a tragedy
But more if I was thinking for you instead of me
Last glimpse in the public eye cries
Have fun just getting by
On the dead-beat path you call the road
That we held you back from
Ignorance and a lack of sense of mind
But you're quick to judge how I get by
You're not worth the time (You're not worth the time)
Now that you've painted me black let's face it
Enjoy the knife in my back for the bed that you made here
It's a tragedy
But more if I was thinking for you instead of me
So the next time try to learn from your mistakes
Maybe stay the same
Some things never change
Your waves are crashing in and I’ve been searching for something in black and white
that i can't find
Deceit lies in your eyes
Like stars across the mountainside
Crushing in consuming like
A fire that's been burning from the inside
Now that you've painted me black let's face it
Enjoy the knife in my back for the bed that you made here
It's a tragedy
But more if I was thinking for you instead of me
So the next time try to learn from your mistakes
Maybe stay the same
Some things never change
Put me out like a light
I hope you know that I'm doing fine
Just rest your head at night and get by
I'll be there when you close your eyes
Put me out like a light
I hope you know that I'm doing fine
Just rest your head at night and get by
I'll be there when you close your eyes
Now that you've painted me black let's face it
Enjoy the knife in my back for the bed that you made here
It's a tragedy
But more if I was thinking for you instead of me
So the next time try to learn from your mistakes
Maybe stay the same (Some things never change)
So the next time try to learn from your mistakes
Maybe stay the same
Some things never change

Sleepless Nights
02:55
|
|||
Remember back in 2010
I told myself I wouldn't end up just like them
A waste of space
No one to relate
It’s happening again
By 25 I hope
I have so much more than just these nights alone
I always end up alone
I wouldn't call this home
It's where I have to lay my head at night
City lights block out my view
Of the stars that fill the sky
Searching for something more
We're all putting up a fight
Keep looking for something new
Through these sleepless nights
I'm counting stars again tonight
Wondering if you'll ever feel the same way
Here’s to another night
I’ll fall asleep on the floor
Thinking about you
I’m always dreaming about
I wouldn't call this home
It's where I have to lay my head at night
City lights block out my view
Of the stars that fill the sky
Searching for something more
We're all putting up a fight
Keep looking for something new
Through these sleepless
Another side that shows
And I'm stuck here picking up the pieces
I hope that what you chose
Will help those foolish games that you play
A heartbreak that left me bleeding
But something about it was oh, so sweet
I’m still picking up the pieces
I wouldn't call this home
It's where I have to lay my head at night
City lights block out my view
Of the stars that fill the sky
Searching for something more
We're all putting up a fight
Keep looking for something new
Through these sleepless nights
Sleepless nights
Sleepless nights
Sleepless nights

Stumble Home
03:05
|
|||
Spend these long nights wishing to come home
It's real and it’s ready to sink in I know
Never saw it coming till she pushed him away
It sent him over the edge and left him searching for a better place
Just burn the bridge and set this aside
Get into the car and get out of my life
Didn’t ask for judge of character
Or just for you to make it better
Just wanted a place to call our own
Where we could stumble home together
But you left me with everything you knew would lead me right back in so
Here I am, I'm ready if you'll have me
I thought we'd learn from past mistakes but clearly
(Something was different, I just didn't plan it)
I wasn't ready to see that smile again
Cut me open and leave me numb
You beat me up and left me worse than you ever had
With all the junk It's building up
(This ship is going down)
Didn’t ask for judge of character
Or just for you to make it better
Just wanted a place to call our own
Where we could stumble home together
But you left me with everything you knew would lead me right back in so
Here I am, I'm ready if you'll have me
Maybe we can work it out
I hope that we could work it out
But who were we kidding
The chamber was loaded right from the beginning
And recently I’ve had the tendencies
To ruin everything I love
Crashing in around me
Didn’t ask for judge of character
Or just for you to make it better
Just wanted a place to call our own
Where we could stumble home together
Didn’t ask for judge of character
Or just for you to make it better
Just wanted a place to call our own
Where we could stumble home together
But you left me with everything you knew would lead me right back in so
Here I am, I'm ready if you'll have me
(Didn’t ask for a judge of character)
I’m ready if you’ll have me
(Just wanted a place to call our own)
I’m ready if you’ll have me
But you left me with everything you knew would lead me right back in so
Here I am, I'm ready if you'll have me

Lucky Man

I wanna thank you for the way that you smile
And the way it makes me feel
And I know that you feel the same way too
If there was one thing that I could ask ya
It would be to come a little closer to me
Sit down don't leave my side
It been 6 years on an endless ride
And so the story goes
I wanna thank you for the way that you smile
And the way ya make me feel
Like I'm the lucky man
Cause it’s you
And there's me there's me
And everything that's in between is working
And I know that you feel the same way too
Memories paint the town with you and me
There’s a light left in your eyes that’s telling me
That you'll never leave
That's okay because I wanted you to stay
(And I was hoping that was how you felt about it)
I wanna thank you for the way that you smile
And the way ya make me feel
Like I'm the lucky man
Cause it’s you
And there's me there's me
And everything that's in between is working
And I know that you feel the same way too
Moved back in
Went from a bedroom at your parents house
To the place that you grew up and
Not much has changed then
There’s still a burn mark in the basement in the carpet
from back when we were kids
I wanna thank you for the way that you smile
And the way ya make me feel
Like I'm the lucky man
Cause it’s you
And there's me there's me
And everything that's in between is working
And I know that you feel the same way too
Cause it’s you
And there's me there's me
And everything that's in between is working
And I know that you feel the same way too

Rinse and repeat
Just like you did with me
You always said this was all the same
I guess it kind of lacked the personality
The thought of giving up and letting go has my hands tied
But you got the key so
I hope you keep it to yourself
Frustrated, my back’s aching
From carrying the weight of it
Falling forward
Landing on my feet this time
Doing it for me
Just wait and see
Gonna have you on the outside looking
In on my life
On the plans you made and the road we paved
But you gave up along the way
Now you’re jaded, what the hell did you expect
The thought of giving up and letting go has my hands tied
But you got the key so
I hope you keep it to yourself
Frustrated, my back’s aching
From carrying the weight of it
Falling forward
Landing on my feet this time
Doing it for me
Just wait and see
Gonna have you on the outside looking
Frustrated, my back’s aching
From carrying the weight of it
Frustrated, my back’s aching
From carrying the weight of it
Falling forward
Landing on my feet this time
Doing it for me
Just wait and see
Gonna have you on the outside looking in
Gonna have you on the outside looking in
Gonna have you on the outside looking in
